Education Discovery Forum: Baltimore

Registration Deadline: 07/08/17 - 07/14/17

This year, NICERC has partnered with CSTA to bring teachers a professional development experience unlike any other! The CSTA Annual Conference and the Education Discovery Forum (EDF) are joining forces to provide teachers and administrators a unique workshop event that will help them explore how to integrate cyber and computer science principles into the classroom. One registration provides educators the opportunity to attend three sections: the Cyber Showcase Pre-Workshop on Saturday or Sunday, the CSTA Annual Conference on Sunday through Tuesday, and the EDF Baltimore on Wednesday through Friday. Teachers may attend one, two, or all three of the sections all for one registration price.

Cyber Showcase Pre-Workshop (Saturday, July 8 or Sunday, July 9): During the Cyber Showcase, educators and administrators will be introduced to a robust library of STEM, Cyber, and Computer Science curricula that is available to K-12 teachers across the country at no cost. Teachers will experience project-driven, hands-on curricula, projects, and technology that provides new, innovative ways to engage students within the classroom.

CSTA Conference (Sunday, July 9 through Tuesday, July 11): Teachers will have the opportunity to attend CSTA’s widely-popular annual conference.

EDF Baltimore (Wednesday, July 12 through Friday morning, July 14): Teachers attending the EDF Baltimore will have the option to be immersed in one of the following NICERC content threads: STEM: Explore, Discover, Apply (STEM EDA), Cyber Literacy, Cyber Literacy II, or Computer Science. Teachers will take a deep-dive into the content, providing them with a greater understanding of the curriculum design process, projects, and opportunities for implementation. All EDF participants will have the opportunity to connect with NICERC subject matter experts and many of the authors of the curricula.
